by Deptford Goth
To quote the Fugees, the new track from Daniel Woolhouse aka Deptford Goth is “Killing us softly with his song.” The song is Gothy’s new demo ‘People Get Still’ — though a track this good really calls the use of the term demo into question. It’s a moving and haunting number, with echoing drums and delicate vocals that fade in and around a lush synthy ambiance. Get it while you can via the soundcloud link below.

by BLonds
album Dark Roots EP
Blonds is the project of Carj Rae and her beau Jordy Asher—two little lovers with one big sound. Their first EP Dark Roots is a fascinating fusion of psychedelia, folk, pop, and country—all drifting under Rae’s dark loungey vocals that float in and out of your ears like a lovestruck whisper. Just don’t get get too attached. She’s married—remember?? Check out K.O., our favorite track from the album above. And stream the rest of the EP below.

by Poledo
album Jesus Christ EP
When a teenager decides they want to cross the thin pubescent line to rebellion they can do so through a variety of vices—sex, drugs, sex and drugs. Young brit Evn C and his moniker Poledo, do it through incredibly trashy garage pop. What separates him from his angsty contemporaries is a childlike soft-spot for other sounds—such as horn blasts, afro-pop guitars, and samples of children cheering—keeping his tunes from pitfalling too far into that black hole called “teenagedom”. Check out ‘All You Do’, the stand out single from his Jesus Chirst EP. Then jump over to his bandcamp page to grab the entire EP for free.

by Doe Paoro
This isn’t typically the kind of music we post here. But Doe Paoro isn’t your typical songstress. Set against a soulful backdrop of strings and piano, her voice on ‘Can’t Leave You’ is like getting a front row seat to the cirque du soleil of vocals—fearless and captivating—never knowing what it’s going to do next. Doe Paoro, consider us smitten. Make sure to check out her amazing cover of the Future Islands ‘Little Dreamer’ below. You can download both over yonder on soundcloud.

by Last Japan
album 3Thousand EP
Meet Last Japan. A young brit who went from the top of his class at the Academy of Contemporary Music in England, to mastering in beat-making. Specializing in UK Bass, his tunes layer deep house grooves with silky-smooth R&B samples. You’ve heard this before, right? Well, you haven’t. Cause this is more than just another chap laying down chill dance tracks on his Mac. Remember—he’s got the degree to prove it. Check out Y.O.U. from his 3Thousand EP above, and stream the whole 5 song album below.

by New Hands
Whoever said kids should stay in school has obviously never heard of New Hands—five college bros who from the sound of the first single ‘This I’ve Heard’, are ready for a much bigger forum than that of their school peers. The track is an impressive piece of electro infused dance-pop. Bouncy bass lines, twinkling synths, and James Murphy-esque vocals —all played with a level of songmanship that makes these guys sound wise beyond their years. Get the track for free here.

by MUSHU
The good. The bad. and the Mushu. This Sydeney trios newest single, ‘Traps’, is the perfect soundtrack for the angsty urban cowboy in you. Old west inspired guitar riffs, and a stomping beat serve as a backdrop for some gorgeously brooding vocals. It’s the kind of track we imagine a young teenager Eastwood would jangle his spurs to. by Buffalo Moon
album Selva Surreal
Buffalo Moon is five young bandmates from the landlocked palm-less paradise of Minneapolis. Their new album ‘Selva Surreal’, which literally translates to surreal jungle, takes the band on a summery jaunt from middle america to the breezy mai tai riddled shores of the tropics. Both spirited and leisurely, the album takes a musical tour through jazz, bossanova, indie pop and psychedelia. It’s like tripping acid on coconuts. Check out the first single, ‘Chica de Luna’. And stream another two songs off the album below.
