Ben Drigg’s kaleidoscopic video for Golden Birthday’s ‘Start Swimming’ is like staring at a puddle of gasoline whilst tripping out of your mind. We’re neither confirming nor denying we’ve ever done this. The track is off the groups upcoming album ‘Blue Island’.
Like many out there we grew up on the Beastie Boys. And since MCA’s passing it’s been a struggle to express just how we feel about it all. But this Spike Jonze reinterpretation of Sabotage starring his own kids and a package of pop rocks says it perfectly. RIP MCA.
Just when we thought Drop Out Venus’ ‘Love In Vein’ couldn’t get any more heroin chic, along comes the official music video from director Natalia Suyk - pairing the somber track with some of the coolest German expressionism-like photography this side of of Fritz Lang.
Three days after posting ‘Illuminati’, the apocalyptic banger from JJ Brine and we’ve already got our hands on it’s music video - matching the songs playful paranoia with kaleido-bliminal imagery. (that’s kaleidoscopic + subliminal for those who are counting)
From the artist “After you watch, you will learn just how much you already know! We give heed to our emissary and we save our earth for the sight of our prodigal sons. THE EVOLUTION OF MAN.”
First posted by the late great Altered Zones, ‘Howolding Girls’ from Boston based Brothers is still one of the best bits of psychadelia this side of the fiber optic shroom. Two years later and the bands picking up right where they left off, finally releasing the long awaited video - playing out like a face painting rave amongst kaleidoscopic haze. We hope this marks a return for the band - our vial is empty.
‘Nasdaq’, the piano looping frenzy of a track from Dream Cop got it’s music video accompaniment on Tuesday from director Lucas Borrás - meeting the tracks frenetic energy with a mix of stop-motion and live action smoke, paint, and sparklers. The whole thing plays out like an apocalyptic 4th of July.
Admittedly we’re more familiar with Hoodie Allen’s more weedy brand of rap like ‘James Franco’. But the track/video for ‘No Interruptions’ demos his sobering prowess for chart topping hip-hop-pop. It’s all setting up Hoodie’s debut EP, ‘All American’ due April 10.
For those of us who missed out on the first press of Death And Vanilla’s psychedelic masterpiece of a debut, there is hope. The bands decided to give us a second (and final) chance to get the album with a second press of 300 on white colored 12” vinyl. To celebrate the occasion the band dropped a new video for the dark and dreamy ‘Cul-De-Sac’.
Schizophrenic pop group Alt-J and director Elias Brawl just dropped this jaw dropping new video for the awesome track ‘Breezeblocks’ - giving us the best bathroom brawl scene since Glen Close went rabbit-killer crazy.
The new video for Noir Coeur’s ‘Hizzouse’ is what happens when you mix late night youtubing with an ecstasy high - marking the first time Tom, Jerry, and Joker have ever met on film. We think. It’s from the groups Jahnimal EP, and is available for ‘pay what you will’ here.
